About Autoquake

What our customers say

At Autoquake, we're proud of our customer service. Here's what some of our satisfied customers have to say...

Rick Palin
Lichfield - bought BMW X5

Autoquake does exactly what it says on the tin. The car you see on the website is the car you ultimately buy - no damage and no surprises.

Although I regularly buy items online, I felt especially comfortable buying through Autoquake because all the information I needed was on the website and the lines of communication were open – someone always picked up the phone and answered to e-mails promptly. The customer service was excellent and there was no hard sell.

Autoquake were open to me seeing the car before any money changed hands and they offered finance which was straightforward and made the car affordable.

Good communication, openness and honesty made this a good purchase in my eyes.

Masood Shah
Nelson - bought Toyota Avensis

I came across Autoquake through the Autotrader website. I was only searching through trade cars because I didn't want to buy privately as I knew someone that had a bad experience. I'd tried eBay before but been put off by a ghost seller who was offering a 54 plate BMW for £7,500 and didn't actually exist.

Although I didn't lose any money, I consequently went into this purchase with scepticism and have come out the other side with a fantastic car and feeling really good. I would definitely recommend Autoquake to anyone! Everything was seamless – absolutely brilliant.

John Corbert
Brighton - bought Saab convertible

I run a property development company in Brighton through which we also lease cars. If I was looking to buy a car in the past I would go to the leasing company or a local franchise dealership. I changed to buying cars online primarily due to the shear convenience (you don't have to leave your living room!) and also because of the price difference. It's a fact: cars on the internet are cheaper.

I came across Autoquake because they happened to be selling the Saab convertible that I wanted for lazy days and sunny days in Brighton. I didn't want to buy from a private seller and Autoquake weren't just selling bottom end stuff - they had quality cars at very reasonable prices.

The ad gave me a really good idea of what I was getting. It helps to have a lot of photographs and an informative summary. I liked that they were willing to deliver which offers flexibility and I had extra peace of mind from the fact that they had been established for a number of years.

I found the customer service very good - I had a quick email response and all the staff were very friendly. Being a northerner myself, Stacey's pleasant northern dulcet tones were very warm and inviting!

What advice would I give to other buyers? 1. Do your market research on prices. I would recommend Parkers. 2. Know your product. WhatCar is a good source.

If you're not familiar with Autoquake and you're unsure, Autoquake let you view the car before if you wish which should put your mind at ease.

My overall Autoquake experience in one sentence? Full of sunshine, just like my car!

Christopher Hodges
Kidderminster - bought Porsche 911

When buying a car in the past I would always have gone through a dealer. I'd have an idea of the car manufacturer I liked and then I'd target the relevant dealerships. Although this is the first time that I have bought anything online, buying a car on the internet was not a major leap of faith for me. My neighbour trades cars online frequently and he gave me the reassurance that I needed.

Initially I watched the online auction of a few Porsches on eBay to get an idea of the value for a certain year, but when I came across this 911 on the Autoquake website, I had to have it (my wife thinks that I'm going through a mid-life-crisis!). It was all very quick and easy. I'm a complete impulse buyer, so before anyoneelse could snap it up, I made an offer on the car. Autoquake contacted me the next day to confirm that I wanted to buy the car. They were professional and easy to deal with. I went down to their London centre to pick up the car. I was pleased to see that the car was exactly as described on the listing. I went for a test drive, signed and paid - I can't imagine it could have been any easier.

Alan Curtis
Skegness - bought Renault Laguna

This is the second car I have bought through Autoquake, and being a small businessman, not in stature, surely that speaks for itself!

Time spent travelling around garage forecourts looking at poorly described, over priced cars is not for me. Autoquake's descriptions on their cars are 100%. From picking the car on the Autoquake website right through to the pick up, once again, was all very easy and professional. I even got a lift from the railway station! Thanks Stacey for your great customer service. You can be sure Autoquake, that when I need another car as Arnie says: "I'll be back!".

Sarah Gray
East Sussex - bought Volvo V40

I had been wanting to change my car for a while and decided to look on the Internet.

A few of my friends had bought cars through eBay and some were happy with their purchase and some were not! The friends who were not happy with their purchase made me a little wary of the private seller. I had a car in mind that I wanted, so I spent most days researching online. I came across Autoquake after tapping 'Volvo V40' into the google search bar.

When I was directed to Autoquake's site, I was pleasantly surprised at how professional the site looked. I always check the feedback previous buyers have left before I even look at the advert. This company was excellent in my eyes! The many photos and the thorough write up of the car were very reassuring.

Whilst looking through the advert for the Volvo there was a piece of information I was not sure of. I emailed Autoquake and the next day I had an answer for my query. I bought my car through the 'Best Offer' option. That was a lot of fun as I knew how much I was willing to spend, but was being a little cheeky as I thought I would get it for a lower price! In the end I was very happy with what I paid for the car.

The service I received from Autoquake was second to none, and the best bit is that I have bought an amazing car from a trusted company and saved myself a few pounds! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Autoquake. Sarah Gray ( proud owner of a Volvo V40!)

Ashley Babb
Buckinghamshire - bought BMW 316i

I'd been searching eBay on and off for a few months in search of a BMW 316i and when I saw Autoquake's listing I had to have it!

The price was excellent and it was the colour I planned on getting. When I saw the extremely detailed listing for the car I knew there was nothing to worry about and didn't hesitate to make an offer. When I collected the car the service was quick, professional and I left feeling extremely satisfied. I would recommend Autoquake to anyone that plans on buying a car.

John Shaw
Huddersfield - bought VW Golf

I bought my last car in 2001 through a dealer that I found through the Autotrader magazine. On this occasion I went back to Autotrader, but used their internet search facility. Autoquake happened to be selling the car that I was looking for – it was cheaper than the dealerships and was similar in price to the Parker's and Glasses estimate.

I was impressed by their website's detail, particularly the specifications and documents summary for the vehicle. When I went to look at the car, there were no surprises and the vehicle was as advertised. I don't have much time for being hassled by salesmen and I'll just walk away if I feel pressurised or forced into extras. The Autoquake guys made me feel at-ease and I was confident that I was making the purchase on my terms.

Caron Brisley
Spetchley - bought VW Golf

I came across Autoquake when I did a Google search for a VW model that I could afford. I was actually looking for a private sale on Autotrader and was even contemplating going to a car auction, but I stumbled across autoquake.com and bookmarked the website. I came back to it two or three weeks later and found the car that was right for me.

I increasingly buy things online but buying a car on the internet was a leap for me. Autoquake made that leap easier. The website had tonnes of info and photographs and I was reassured by their Management team's credentials.

The fact that the staff were polite, friendly and approachable was equally reassuring. They weren't smimey sales people and I got the impression that they were sourced from good quality car dealerships. I wanted to see the car before I actually bought it and, living in the Midlands, to-ing and fro-ing to the Bradford centre was going to be a real hassle. Autoquake organised for the car to be transported to their Birmingham centre which I really appreciated.

Buying a car online depends on your levels of comfort and risk. It may not be for everybody at face value, but it's really worth doing. I wouldn't have been able to find such a good buy anywhere else and the quality of service that Autoquake offer makes it an attractive proposition to any used car buyer.

Aslam Mohamed
Bought a Volvo S60

I have bought BMWs all my life. I would go to the relevant dealerships, do my homework online and take the best deal on offer. I live in Scotland but my work takes me all over the country and therefore, it wasn't a major hassle to visit a geographically broad selection of dealerships. About six months ago I searched on eBay and found a great BMW for a bargain price. I watched the initial part of the auction with interest and then placed a bid in the dieing seconds. To my utter despair, someone else outbid me in the last second! Autoquake were selling the BMW and I was impressed by their accurate listings and positive feedback. I saved the Autoquake website in my favourites and kept a watch on their stock. When my son needed another car I went back to the Autoquake website and found a Volvo S60 for sale at a great price. It was an instinctive decision to deal with Autoquake but I was relaxed and confident to buy a car online from an honest and straightforward (they don't exaggerate the sell) company.

The customer service was very good. This was exemplified when we were caught in traffic on the way down from Glasgow to pick up the Volvo from the Autoquake Acton centre. The Manager, Hugo, was very courteous and kept the centre open after 7pm so that we didn't have to wait until the next day to collect it.

I would advise other people who are thinking of buying a car online to do some initial homework online and familiarise themselves - then - go with your instinct. Sometimes cars are not particularly well represented online, so be sure that the information displayed to you is true. It's difficult to be sure but I had this piece of mind with Autoquake. They provided me with an excellent service that I would recommend to anyone. My son is more then happy with his Volvo S60 and I even bought another car through Autoquake within the same week!

John Larby
Newcastle - bought Mercedes Benz

As someone who doesn't buy cars very often, I'm not too comfortable with the visiting dealers, sales pitch, one careful lady owner, etc. This time I decided to do my research online to check specifications, prices and availability before going to see cars. I usually drive Nissans, Fords, Renaults etc. but soon decided that a slightly older prestige model offered much better value.

Autoquake seem to specialise in this type of vehicle and had several that interested me. I really couldn't just buy from a photograph so I decided to visit and found the Mercedes was just what I wanted. The staff were great; no hard sell, no black polish on the wheels - just a good car, accurately described with all documentation, at a good price. I bought the car, no problems, great to drive - happy customer. Would I do it again? Certainly.

Jennifer Fretwell
Middlesex - bought BMW 320

I was overjoyed with my whole experience from start to finish when I bought my car through Autoquake. I had been looking for a new BMW for a while and had set myself a budget. I thought I would just check out eBay to see what private sellers were selling for in comparison to the dealers I had visited.

I came across the model and year I was looking for on the Autoquake website. I mailed them to find out if I could view and test drive the car and they were so helpful and accommodating that I went to one of their centres and checked over the car. Although I have little mechanical knowledge, I liked what I saw (basically it sounded nice and was a nice colour!) and I had set my mind on that one. - Happy Days!

I went in two days later with my boyfriend to pay and collect the car and we both agreed that the car and service I had received were stunning. It was perfectly described and a fantastic car. I still smile every time I get in the car and give it a thrashing!

We are now looking to buy a second car and the first place I will go to look will be the Autoquake website.

Phil Runciman
Cheshire - bought BMW 318i

Having spent some time surfing the net and visiting different showrooms, both small and large, I decided to look online. My initial objective was to find out how much the cars were going for and nothing more. However, after finding the car I wanted at a greatly reduced price compared to the showrooms I decided to take a closer look.

The ad included more than 50 photographs showing the car from every angle inside and out, and also highlighted any dents and scratches. There were photos of all the wheels/tyres and even the logbook. The only error I found when collecting the car was the last date of service was May '06 whereas the ad stated it was September.

From start to finish the Autoquake staff were extremely helpful. Having decided to buy the car without inspection, I was delighted to find the car in exactly the same condition as described on the website. I was also further delighted when one of Autoquake's employees drove me to the Post Office to tax the vehicle.

All in all, the service I was given was first rate and I would definitely consider using Autoquake again the future.

Kenneth Geddes
Glasgow - bought Renault Espace

I would like to thank Autoquake for a great buying experience. Never has buying a car been so easy and enjoyable. Hassle-free, well described, well photographed with excellent, polite and prompt communications (thanks Ali). A good deal and first class delivery by a very pleasant and professional delivery driver.

I live near Glasgow, Scotland and the Espace came from the Bradford site.

Autoquake has to be the future of used car buying - provided the current high standards are maintained. It has been so refreshing not to have to listen to the uninformed 'bullshit' of the car salesmen at the big dealer networks - looking for big profit margins and giving very little in return!

The service history I received with the Espace was unbelievably comprehensive and left nothing about the vehicle unknown - excellent!

Thanks again - I will certainly consider buying my next vehicle via Autoquake and will strongly recommend the company to others. A very satisfied customer. All the best for the future.
